Hydrangea's are great plants for colder climate regions. They offer huge blooms which make great cut flowers and whose color can be altered depending on acidity of the soil. We offer several varieties .

 

Growth Rate: 12-18"/yr

Max Size: about 10'x10' (climbing hydrangae can climb up to 60')

Light Requirement: Full to Part Sun

Bloom Time: Mid to Late Summer

Bloom Time: Mid to Late Summer

Color: White, Pink, Blue

Changing colors of blooms: Acidic soil turns the blooms blue, alkaline turns the blooms pink, and neutral will keep the blooms white. 

 

Pruning (excluding climbing): Cut off the old blooms after they are done blooming in the fall. Cut off about 1/3 of the old growth.

*for the climbing hydrangea, no pruning is necessary. If pruning is required, prune back to desired shape.
